ABOUT MATTHEW MAYNARD
Batsman for Glamorgan from 1985 to 2005, known for his aggressive strokeplay, he represented England in the 2007 Cricket World Cup.
He hit a century in his debut with Glamorgan in 1985.
He received a three-year Test ban for being part of the controversial rebel tour of South Africa in 1989.
His son Tom was found dead in June 2012.
He was referenced in the song Mr. Carbohydrate by Manic Street Preachers, featuring drummer Sean Moore .
