ABOUT MATT SHAW

Former Maryland Terrapin that played college baseball at the University of Maryland from 2021 until 2023. While at Maryland, he was twice named a member of the first team All-Big Ten. Following his junior season, he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs as a first rounder in 2023.

He is a graduate of the Wilbraham & Monson Academy. At the time, he was rated the ninth best player in his class.

He finished his collegiate career with the ninth most home runs in Maryland program history. He also finished with the fifth highest career slugging percentage.

Growing up, he lived with his family in Springfield, Massachusetts. His older brother was  one of his biggest baseball influences coming up.

He is a former Maryland collegiate athlete just like Steve Francis .
