Matt Den Dekker

ABOUT MATT DEN DEKKER

Outfielder who was drafted by the New York Mets in 2010 before being called up to the majors in 2013. In 2008, he won a gold medal representing the United States at the World University Baseball Championship.

He was born in Fort Lauderdale and played high school baseball at Westminster Academy Christian School.

He was a First-Team All-Southeastern Conference selection as a member of the Florida Gators.

His cousin is Major League relief pitcher Kevin Chapman.

He became teammates with All-Star Mets third baseman David Wright in 2013.
