Third baseman who made his big league debut in 2013 with the Arizona Diamondbacks after the team drafted him in the first round in 2009.

He played baseball at Yucaipa High School in California.

He hit at least 20 home runs in the minor leagues in 2011 and 2012.

He was born and raised in Yucaipa, California.

Relief pitcher Heath Bell was his teammate on the Diamondbacks.
