ABOUT MATT CANADA

Former NCAA and NFL football coach who has served as an offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach since beginning his professional career. Following his one season as the interim head coach at the University of Maryland , he then began working as the quarterbacks coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers . He also served as the Steelers' offensive coordinator up until he was fired in November 2023.

He first began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Indiana University . After three seasons, he then began coaching at Butler University .

While coaching Northern Illinois University , he led them to the 2011 Mid-American Conference Championship. Just one season later, he then led the University of Wisconsin to the 2012 Big Ten Championship Game.

He lives along with his wife, Erin, and their family. He is a native of New Palestine, Indiana.

He coached Taylor Martinez and Melvin Gordon while at Wisconsin.
