ABOUT MATT CAMPBELL
British chef who rose to fame after appearing on BBC's MasterChef: The Professionals. Prior to his appearance on the reality show he'd taken second place in BBC's Young Chef of the Year competition and worked in several Michelin starred restaurants.
He was brought up in the Lake District of northwest England.
He passed away suddenly while competing in the warmest London Marathon in history. He collapsed at the 22.5 mile mark and was taken to a hospital where he later died.
He'd decided to run the marathon in part to honor the memory of his father who'd passed away 18 months prior. He also had two brother named Luke and Josh.
