ABOUT MATT BUSH

Veteran major league relief pitcher and former first overall pick who was initially drafted by the San Diego Padres in 2004. Since then, he has recorded innings as a pitcher within the Toronto Blue Jays , Milwaukee Brewers , and Texas Rangers organizations. While pitching with Texas, he won the 2023 Major League World Series.

He was originally drafted out of high school as a top shortstop prospect. While at Mission Bay High School, he played baseball, football and ran track.

He made his official major league debut nearly 12 years after getting drafted from high school. In his debut, he pitched one scoreless inning and collected one strikeout in the process.

He lives along with his wife, Mary Claire, and their daughter Blake. He is a native of San Diego, California.

He was once represented by MLB super agent Scott Boras .
