Franchise player for the Minnesota Vikings who played outside linebacker for all 12 seasons of his career.

He got a chance to start on the Vikings his rookie season after an injury sidelined Roy Winston.

He was a six-time Pro Bowl selection, and helped the Vikings reach Super Bowl IX and Super Bowl XI.

He was born in Hilo, Hawaii.

He was the 2012 inductee into the Vikings Ring of Honor, taking his place alongside Randall McDaniel , inducted in 2006.
