ABOUT MARTíN ELíAS DíAZ
Columbian singer/songwriter who was known by his stage name Martín Elías and contributed to the rise of new wave vallenato music. He released his debut studio album Una Nueva Historia in 2007.
He began performing with his father Diomedes Diaz at the age of 6.
In April 2017 he was involved in a tragic car accident that ultimately claimed his life.
He married Dayana Jaimes García in October 2014 and the two welcomed a daughter in 2015.
Fellow world music performer Carlos Vives mourned his death on social media.
