ABOUT MARTIN CHAMBERS

English musician known as the drummer and founding member of the rock band Pretenders . He also sings backing vocals and plays percussion. He left the group in the mid-1980s but rejoined in 1994 and has been with them ever since.

Before becoming a member of the yet-to-be-named Pretenders, Chambers collaborated with James Honeyman-Scott in Cheeks, a band fronted by Verden Allen, the former keyboardist of Mott the Hoople.

He is known for his unique drumming technique of playing with his hands instead of using drumsticks. This distinctive style can be heard in songs like "Brass in Pocket" and "Back on the Chain Gang" by The Pretenders.

He is from Hereford, Herefordshire, England.

He has played alongside singer Chrissie Hynde in The Pretenders.
