She attended the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Zagreb, from which she graduated in 1934.
She was tutored by Vladimir Becić . Becić would profoundly impact her artistic style.
She was born into a wealthy Jewish family in Zagreb. She married fellow painter Kamilo Tompa. She killed herself in 1980, two years after she had given up painting.
She and Vincent Van Gogh were both prolific painters.
