ABOUT MARK POPE
Former NBA forward who became the head coach of the University of Kentucky men's basketball team in 2024. Before coaching Kentucky, he coached Utah Valley from 2015 to 2019 and Brigham Young University from 2019 to 2024.
He played his last two years of college basketball at Kentucky and helped the team win the 1996 NCAA championship.
He was a second-round pick of the Indiana Pacers in the 1996 NBA draft. He spent a total of seven seasons in the NBA, playing for the Pacers, Milwaukee Bucks , New York Knicks , and Denver Nuggets .
He married Lee Anne Pope and the couple raised four daughters together.
He was coached by Rick Pitino during his time as a player at Kentucky.
