ABOUT MARK LEITER JR.
Right-handed pitcher that was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies during the 22nd round of the 2013 Major League Draft. He was later signed by the Chicago Cubs in December 2021. He has also pitched in the Toronto Blue Jays , Detroit Tigers and Arizona Diamondbacks farm systems.
He initially began his professional career playing for the GCL Phillies rookie affiliate team. A few months later, he was promoted to the Clearwater Threshers.
He made his official major league debut pitching against the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 28, 2017 as a member of the Phillies. He is the nephew of three-time World Series winner Al Leiter .
He was born in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida but grew up in Toms River, New Jersey. His father, Mark Sr., pitched in the majors for 11 years. His mother's name is Allison.
His cousin, Jack Leiter , was drafted by the Texas Rangers in 2021.
