ABOUT MARJATTA KAJOSMAA

Finnish cross country skier who won four Olympic medals in the 1970s at the 1972 Sapporo and 1976 Innsbruck games.

She won her first International medals at the World Championships in 1970, taking a silver and a bronze.

She received the Holmenkollen medal for top Norwegian skier in 1971, becoming the first Finnish women to ever win the award.

She was raised as an only child in Vehkalahti, Finland.

She competed in the 1976 Olympics where American figure skater Dorothy Hamill won a gold medal.
