ABOUT MARGARET CRAVEN
A twentieth-century American author, she is best known for I Heard the Owl Call My Name and Walk Gently This Good Earth. Her literary works sold over a million copies during her lifetime.
Early in her literary career, she worked as the secretary to the managing editor of the Mercury Herald.
She nearly went blind due to a bacterial infection of the eyes.
She was the daughter of Arthur J. Craven and Emily K. Craven.
She and Max Baucus both attended Stanford University.
