Second baseman with good pop for his position; he was an All-Star in 2003 and played the majority of his MLB career with the Atlanta Braves.

The Braves drafted him in the 53rd round in 1996.

He played baseball at Grossmont College in California.

His brother is power-hitting outfielder Brian Giles .

He and former pitching phenom Mark Prior collided on the basepaths in 2003 and both missed some time due to injury as a result.
