Brazilian rapper who rose to fame under the professional alias Marcelo D2. As Marcelo D2 he is widely known for his sophomore album Looking for the Perfect Beat which was released in 2003.

He was the lead vocalist of the band Planet Hemp from 1993 to 2001.

Several of his songs were featured on the soundtrack of the 2006 horror film Turistas.

He is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and his real name is Marcelo Maldonado Peixoto.

He collaborated with Black Eyed Peas founder will.i.am on his album Looking for the Perfect Beat.
