Former Panamanian catcher who was a three-time All-Star = during his Major League playing career.

He was signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates as a teenager.

He spent his entire career with the Pirates except for a brief stint with the Athletics in 1977.

He was born and raised in Colon, Panama.

He and Johnny Bench were two of the top catchers of the 1970s.
