Former MLB outfielder who began his long career as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1980.
He began his career playing for the New York Giants minor league team at the age of 19.
He became the longest-tenured coach in L.A. Dodgers history, and helped the team win World Series titles 1981 and 1988.
His sons Andy and Jose became professional baseball players.
