She competed in surf competitions and won the United States Amateur Surfing Championship at age
15.

She gave surfing advice for the production of the Disney movie Lilo & Stitch.

She had a son with her second husband, surfer Luke Stedman, but they separated. In 2012, she had a child with Alex O'Loughlin, who she married in 2014.

She married and had a son with Hawaii Five-0 star Alex O'Loughlin .
