ABOUT LUKE RAY JACKSON

Professional pitcher that was drafted by the Texas Rangers during the first round of the 2010 MLB Draft. He was acquired by the Atlanta Braves via trade in December 2016.

He began his professional career playing for the Rangers' single-A affiliate team the Hickory Crawdads.

He made his major league debut on September 4, 2015 pitching for the Rangers.

Both of his parents were former Division I college athletes.

On May 15, 2019 while playing against the St. Louis Cardinals , he became the first Braves pitcher to close back-to-back games with two-inning saves since Hall of Famer and Braves Legend John Smoltz did it in 2002.
