Luis Valbuena

ABOUT LUIS VALBUENA

Former versatile infielder who rose to fame for his 11-year career in the MLB, including with the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Angels. In December 2018, he was killed in his native Venezuela during a car crash that resulted from an attempted robbery by bandits.

He first joined the Seattle Mariners organization in 2005. He debuted professionally for the squad in 2008.

He played for the Houston Astros between 2015-2016. He platooned at both first base and third base for the team.

His mother's name is Nelly. He has one older brother.

He was traded to the Astros from the Cubs for Dexter Fowler .
