ABOUT LOU WHITAKER

5-time All-Star second baseman who spent his entire 19-year career with the Detroit Tigers. He helped lead the Tigers to a World Series Championship in 1984.

He began playing alongside shortstop Alan Trammell in the minor leagues.

He was named American League Rookie of the Year in 1978 and went on to win 3 Gold Glove Awards.

He had two children with his wife Crystal.

He played for manager Sparky Anderson on the Detroit Tigers.
