ABOUT LLOYD LLEWELLYN BLACK

Federal judge who, in 1939, received his United States Senate commission to serve on the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.

He graduated in 1912 from the University of Washington School of Law and subsequently opened a private law practice in Everett, Washington.

He joined the United States Army during the last year of World War I.

He grew up in Leavenworth, Kansas.
