She attended Boston College, where she studied journalism; she later entered a graduate program at Harvard before becoming a Popular Mechanics copy editor.
She once claimed that her style was almost exclusively influenced by Dean Martin during his roasts, as she never watched other comics perform; she herself was a member of several roast panels, including for Denis Leary , William Shatner , and Donald Trump .
She married her second husband, Jimmy Cannizzaro, in 2010, though she claimed she was still friends with her first husband.
She and Kathy Griffin both made a fantastic living insulting other celebrities and marginalized members of society.
