She was four years old when she won her first talent contest for singing. She has worked as an announcer and voiceover artist for AT&T, Ford, Graco and Cartoon Network.

She is an active supporter of the non-profit Girls For A Change which assists young at-risk black girls with educational and career support. She has hosted auctions at fundraising events for the organization.

She appeared with her father William Blackwell on the cover of Essence magazine in 2011. She lives with her family in Atlanta, GA.
