ABOUT LEODY TAVERAS

Professional outfielder that was signed by the Texas Rangers as an international free agent in 2015. He was selected to play in the the 2018 All-Star Futures Game as a member of the World Team.

He began his professional career playing for the Rangers' rookie affiliate team the DSL Rangers.

He made his major league debut playing against the Colorado Rockies on July 24, 2020.

He is related to former Major League outfielder Willy Taveras.

At the age of 21, he became the youngest position player in franchise history to debut on Opening Day since Hank Blalock .
