ABOUT LEIGHTON JAMES

Welsh soccer manager and former player who has won titles as the manager of clubs like Garden Village. As a player, he was named Derby County FC Player of the Year in 1977. He managed a total of ten teams throughout his professional managerial career.

He was born in the town of Loughor and began his professional soccer career with Burnley FC in 1970.

Following his retirement, he became an analyst whose disparaging remarks about Cardiff City inspired the song "Leighton James Don't Like Us" by Leigh Bailey.

He has a daughter.

He and Mart Poom have both been named Derby County FC Player of the Year.
