ABOUT LAWSON LITTLE
World Golf Hall of Fame who achieved great success as an amateur before joining the PGA Tour in 1936.
He played golf at Stanford University and studied the game under the great James E. Sullivan.
He became the first golfer to win the U.S. Amateur and the British Amateur in the same year twice, in 1934 and 1935.
He was born in Rhode Island and grew up in North California, where he started playing golf.
He, Bobby Jones , Harold Hilton, and Bob Dickson were the first golfers to capture the U.S. Amateur and British Amateur titles in the same year.
