She started acting in plays at the age of five, and played small roles in Ghost Whisperer and Medical Investigation .

Prior to her Disney career, she starred in the film The Jacket with Adrien Brody . She starred in the 2022 film The Royal Treatment on Netflix.

She is the sister of Vanessa Marano , and both appeared in the Showtime series Dexter together. Her parents are named Ellen and Damiano. She has a dog named Velvet. She dated Tom Macken.

She appeared in Judd Apatow 's 2007 film Superbad .
