ABOUT LAURA LYNCH

Award-winning Canadian journalist best known for her work at CBC News. She hosted CBC Radio's weekly environmental show What on Earth. She worked as a foreign correspondent based in Washington, D.C. and London. She has reported from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Zimbabwe and Syria.

She studied law at the University of Victoria and journalism at Carleton University.

She began her career with the CBC as a legal affairs reporter covering stories in the Department of Justice and the Supreme Court of Canada. She was nominated for a Jack Webster Award for her reporting on the Supreme Court case R v O'Connor, which focused on the disclosure of medical records. She studied human rights at Harvard University .

She is from Canada.
