ABOUT LARS THORBJøRN MONSEN
Outdoorsman, survivalist, and adventurer who has made a number of documentaries and videos about his expeditions into harsh wilderness. He is popular on Norwegian television and Facebook, where he has 370,000 followers. He also owns his own outdoor gear store called Lars Monsen Gear.
He was a student at Sagene Teachers College in 1988.
He is of Sámi descent, Finno-Ugric-speaking native people inhabiting the region of Sápmi which encompasses much of Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
He married American-Norwegian musical artist Trine Rein in 2015.
He is often considered the Norwegian Bear Grylls .
