He served in the United States Navy for three years and, as a result of the G.I. Bill, became involved in the American Theatre Wing.
He appeared in two 1982 episodes of the hit CBS series, M*A*S*H.
His father served on the Ohio State Senate and also had a career as a collegiate-level football coach.
