ABOUT KISHO KUROKAWA
One of the architects who founded the avant-garde Metabolist Movement; he advocated sustainable, eco-friendly architecture.
He earned his Bachelor's from Kyoto University in 1957, then he received his Master's degree from the University of Tokyo in 1959; he started pursuing a doctorate of philosophy but never finished it.
He ran for governor of Tokyo.
He had two children--potter Kako Matsuura and photographer Mikio--with his first wife. He then married actress Ayako Wakao.
He and astronaut Naoko Yamazaki both attended the University of Tokyo.
