Starting pitcher known for his superb control; he made his MLB debut in 2007 for the Minnesota Twins and threw a league-leading two shutouts in 2008.

He pitched at Upper St. Clair High School in Pennsylvania.

He scored 1420 on his SAT and attended Winthrop University on academic scholarship.

His cousin Rob Madore is a professional hockey goaltender.

2006 MVP Justin Morneau was his teammate on the Twins.
