World Boxing Council Featherweight Champion from December 4th, 1993 until January 7th, 1995 after losing to Alejandro Martin Gonzalez. He later worked as a boxing commentator for HBO.
He was an accomplished amateur, winning two New York Golden Gloves Championships, a Sub-Novice Championship, and an Open Championship.
After 72 fights, he sported a record of 60-10-2 with 39 of his wins decided by knockout.
He was born in Brooklyn, New York.
He was defeated by Manny Pazquiao's brother Bobby Pacquiao .
