ABOUT KELLY JO BATES

Mother of nineteen children, she and her expansive brood have become the subjects of the popular UpTV reality series Bringing Up Bates .

She met her husband Gil at Anderson University in South Carolina. The two were both part of ministry teams and met through a friend on the teams.

Throughout her decades long marriage, she has managed the Bates household and homeschooled their many children.

She and her husband Gil have nineteen children including ten daughters and nine sons. They also have several grandchildren.

Her son Trace stars alongside her and the rest of their extensive family on Bringing Up Bates.
