ABOUT KAY BAXTER
Bodybuilder from 1979 to 1986, she was a four-time competitor in the IFBB Ms. Olympia competition; inducted into the IFBB Hall of Fame posthumously in 2001.
She was a gymnast at Kent State University, and didn't take up bodybuilding until she was in her 30s.
In 1979 she won the U.S. Women's Championship for Bodybuilding.
She was born in Monroe County, Ohio, and died in a tragic car accident.
She helped pave the way for female bodybuilders such as Joan Laurer .
