Began playing the role of Emma Snyder on As the World Turns in 1985 and also appeared on soap operas like Another World and Ryan's Hope. She appeared in over 1,500 episodes of television throughout her prolific career.
She moved from Delaware to New York City to pursue her acting career and attended the Sorbonne in Paris under a Fulbright scholarship.
She was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play in 1973 for her role as Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing.
She was married to Richard Jordan from 1964-72.
She co-starred with Helen Wagner , who played Nancy Hughes, on the soap opera As the World Turns.
