Professional journalist who became known to the public as a contributing opinion writer for The New York Times. She has also written pieces for The Atlantic, Esquire, The New Yorker and Rolling Stone.

She studied at the University of Wisconsin and earned a law degree from Columbia .

She was previously a staff writer for The Daily Show with Trevor Noah .

She grew up in Wisconsin but later moved to Brooklyn, New York.

In December 2017, she wrote a commentary discussing Omarosa Manigault leaving her role with the Trump administration.
