ABOUT KARTHI
Tamil cinema actor who had breakout hits in Paiyaa and Naan Mahaan Alla in 2010. His performance as the title character in Paruthiveeran earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor. In 2024, he played the titular character in the Netflix film Meiyazhagan.
He studied engineering in school and worked as a consultant, but found the work too monotonous.
In addition to his on-screen work, he has been a noted social welfare activist, helping out the needy and encouraging his fans to do the same. His acting fame has led him to amass over 4.2 million Instagram followers.
His father Sivakumar was a renowned Tamil actor in his own time. He married Ranjini Chinnaswarmy in 2011. Together they have a daughter named Umayaal who was born in 2013.
He is the younger brother of the Tamil leading man, Suriya .
