ABOUT KARLIS MILENBAHS

A Latvian author and linguist, he is credited with over fifty scholarly articles. His greatest accomplishment was his Latvian-German dictionary.

He studied classical philology at the University of Dorpat; however, financial woes forced him to discontinue his studies.

He co-translated The Odyssey.

He was raised in Riga, Latvia.

He and Dora Gabe both studied philology.
