ABOUT KARL DöNITZ

Former President of Germany and Minister of War that served from April to May 1945. Prior to being selected as President of Germany, he served as Supreme Commander of the Navy in May 1945.

He first began serving in the German military in the 1910's.

He served in the German military during both World War I and World War II.

He was a native of modern day Prussia which is now in Germany.

He briefly seceded Adolf Hitler as President of Germany in 1945.
