Singer and drummer who was one half of The Carpenters and sang "We've Only Just Begun." She was listed on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 greatest singers of all time in 2010.
She loved to play baseball as a child. Throughout her life, she suffered from anorexia nervosa.
She was an exceptional drummer, considered one of the best of her peers. She died tragically at 32 due to heart failure after years of suffering from eating disorders. Todd Haynes made a short film about her using Barbies as actors.
She married Thomas James Burris on August 31, 1980.
She dated actor Tony Danza .
