Kanchan Gupta

ABOUT KANCHAN GUPTA

Indian journalist and activist who is best recognized for his work as Deputy Editor of The Pioneer. He is also known for his weekly column in the paper titled Coffee Break.

He studied English and Political Science at the University of Calcutta. He started his career as editor of The Telegraph in 1982 before joining The Statesmen in 1987 where he worked as an Assistant Editor.

He is also known for having served as the director of the Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture in Cairo.

He was born in West Bengal but was raised in Jamshedpur and Patna.

He is known for having worked as an assistant to politician Lk Advani in December of 1985.
