ABOUT KAI NIELSEN

Danish sculptor known for his socially conscious style. He sculpted Blind Peasant Girl and The Marble Girl.

He apprenticed as a painter at age 15, but decided to pursue sculpture.

He died while working on a draft of a Maritime monument.

He was born to Christian Nielsen and Ane Marie.

He and Asger Jorn are both sculptors from Denmark.
