Born Amos Wells Blakemore, Jr. and better known by his stage name Junior Wells, this blues singer is remembered for his collaborations with fellow blues musicians Buddy Guy , Earl Hooker, and Muddy Waters . His numerous albums include Hoodoo Man Blues (1965), Chiefly Wells (1986), and Alone & Acoustic (1991).

He started playing the harmonica at age seven and recorded his first tracks in his late teens.

His 1960 single "Little by Little" rose to a Top 25 position on Billboard's R&B chart.

He was raised in West Memphis, Arkansas and Chicago, Illinois.

His non-blues-genre musical collaborators include The Rolling Stones and Bonnie Raitt .
