ABOUT JUAN CARLOS ONETTI
Distinguished Uruguayan novelist and short story writer who was associated with the Generation of '45. His famous works include Tierra de nadie (No Man's Land) and Para una tumba sin nombre (A Grave with No Name).
He published his debut novel, El Pozo, when he was just thirty years old. Around this time, he also edited a Uruguayan newspaper called Marcha.
He received the Uruguay National Literature Prize in 1962 and the prestigious Premio Cervantes in 1980.
He and his violinist wife, Dorotea Muhr, lived in Spain for many years.
Like renowned pianist Homero Francesch , Onetti was born in Montevideo, Uruguay.
