He became passionate about music from an early age and began playing various instruments at the age of seven.

He won Christian Songwriter/Artist of the Year from The 2012 American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.

He was born in Arkansas, and raised in Lubbock, Texas the son of a pastor.

He and Keith Green are both Contemporary Christian musicians who've been signed by Sparrow Records.
