ABOUT JOSH RAND

American guitarist, instrumentalist, musician, artist, entertainer, and performer who initially rose to fame for his work with rock band Stone Sour . He joined the band shortly before the recording of their self-titled debut album.

He started playing the bass at the young age of nine. His early influences included Metallica 's Cliff Burton and Anthrax 's Frank Bello . He was inspired to switch to guitar after hearing Paul Gilbert 's technically formidable playing in Racer X.

He is a fan of the Atlanta Falcons . In the year 2022, he attended a Steve Vai concert. When Stone Sour went on hiatus in 2020, Rand teamed up with Paralandra vocalist Casandra Carson to form what's knowna s the LIFE Project. Their debut single was released in April of 2021. He is known for his bald head.

His daughter Mia studied business at the University of Iowa .

He collaborated with Jesse Leach and Matt Heafy on the song "Blood & Flames," which was featured on Roadrunner United: The All-Star Sessions.
